Update re dualling of A47
The contractors for the dualling works have announced that next week they hope to divert traffic on to part of the new carriageway. Work can then be done to upgrade the current carriageway, which will become an access road for local traffic and farm vehicles. By mid May they hope to open the flyover between the B1140 north and south. The works are programmed to finish in the summer, except for the tree planting, which will be done in the Autumn.
The junction with The Windle is outside the area of the dualling works, but we understand that the safety of the junction will be assessed when the dualled road is open, to see if the junction should be closed or can be left open.
