Road closure : Various Roads Carriageway resurfacing, Acle
Work is scheduled to commence on 10 August 2026 to resurface sections of worn carriageway on various roads in Acle, including South Walsham Road, Bridewell Lane, The Street, and Old Road. Subject to favourable weather conditions, the works are expected to take approximately 10 days to complete.
To minimise disruption to residents and road users, the works will be carried out during daytime hours between 07:00 and 16:30.
The project will be delivered in a series of smaller phases to further reduce the impact on the local community. Additional activities associated with the resurfacing programme will also be undertaken during this period. Please note that the schedule may be subject to change due to adverse weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances.

Friday 21 August 2026 – Full Road closure for Lining works.
Access to properties within the road closure will be maintained; however, there may be periods when vehicle access is restricted. If you have specific access requirements, please contact us via the email address provided below or speak directly with the team on site so we can accommodate your needs.
Please note that on-street parking within the road closure will be suspended during working hours. We kindly ask residents to park their vehicles outside the designated work area.
Roads will be closed for through traffic for the duration of the works. A fully signed diversion route will be in place. However, drivers may also choose to use alternative roads to complete their journeys while the closure is in effect.

The County Council thanks people for their patience while this resurfacing work is carried out.
The work which will cost £580,000 will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Infrastructure Department and their contractors.
